Born in 1984 in Tbilisi, Rati Mujiri studied journalism at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Mahmud – My Syrian Interpreter is his debut nonfiction prose. Rati Mujiri worked as a conflict reporter from 2006-2014 and covered regional and worldwide conflicts from most conflict-ridden parts of the world including Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, as well as Russian invasion in Georgia.
